Microsoft has a great little command line tool to traverse huge log files. It uses a SQL-like syntax to query the file content:
LOGPARSER "Select Text from [path to file] where Text like '%%[text to find]%%'" -i:TEXTLINE -q:Off
The SELECT is the most basic search term available. It can much more than just that.
